The man we've come to know as T.J. Hooker, Denny Crane and of course the iconic Captain James T. Kirk, will be front and centre Friday morning for the 102nd Annual Calgary Stampede Parade.

William Shatner is the Parade's Grand Marshall along with Olympic Athletes Gilmore Junio and Denny Morrison.

Junio and Morrison became famous around the world during the Sochi Olympics this past February when Junio gave up his spot in the men's 1,000 metres to Morrison, who then won a silver medal.

As for Shatner, he says his family is coming up for Stampede and he'll spend some time in Calgary and Banff.

But will he make a side trip to the foothills and travel to Vulcan, as his co-star Leonard Nimoy did back in April of 2010?

"Is there a town of Vulcan south of Calgary? I will avoid that assiduously."

Amazingly, Shatner who is a world class horseman, won't be riding a horse to lead the parade.

Instead he'll be in an antique car with his wife Elizabeth.

The Stampede Parade goes at 8:55 Friday morning through the streets of downtown Calgary.
