At approximately 1pm Friday afternoon EMS from High River, Strathmore, Nanton and Vulcan responded to a school bus that had rolled over on Highway 542 just east of Highway 24.

On arrival, paramedics found nine people aboard the bus, paramedics assessed all occupants aboard the bus.

Three patients were transported to Alberta Children's Hospital in stable condition and the remaining four passengers aboard the bus sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the bus was not injured.

Constable Shaun Provost with Vulcan RCMP says weather and an impatient driver trying to pass the school bus led to the incident.

"The vehicle decided to try and pass them and lost control in the slush and that was kind of the cause of the accident and both went into the ditch, the bus unfortunately rolled."

Provost says the accident is under investigation and urges motorists to slow down, be patient and drive for the conditions of the road.
