There's been plenty of criticism of the local RCMP in recent days over the issue of rural crime.

Corrie Fisher with the Foothills Rural Crime Watch Association, says it's something she's heard talking to farmers and producers in the area, but she stands by the Mounties.

"I think people really are hard on the RCMP for the job that they do. And they do come out to calls. The people that are faced with, these criminals are messed up. They are dangerous. We have to keep relying on the RCMP."

Fisher says she and the Foothills Crime Watch work closely with local RCMP detachments, and encourages victims of rural crime to continue calling the Mounties with all the information they can give them on what's happening out there.
