Road closures on Macleod Trail in High River start the week of June 5.

Weather permitting, work is to begin between 3rd Street and 6 Street Southwest in front of Spitzee School.

Crews will be replacing underground utilities, roads and sections of curb and sidewalks.

Ninth Avenue has been designated as a temporary haul route for the duration of the work.

As a safety precaution, there will be no parking along the south side of 9 Avenue S.W. from 1 Street S.W. to 8 Street S.W. to allow trucks enough clearance.

The Town has also been working with the Foothills School Division and Spitzee Elementary to modify bus and parent pick-up and drop-off locations during construction.

Buses will be staged along 7 Avenue between 2 and 3 Streets.

The parent pick-up and drop-off area will be along the east side of 3 Street starting at 7 Avenue.

The project should be complete by early September.
