Snow pack levels in the mountains started off pretty high but the lack of snow over the last couple of months have it back down to average again.

A public affairs officer with Alberta Environment, Jason Penner says anyone who wants to keep track of river levels can do so with the river forecasting app.

He says you don't have to continually check it.

"That's probably one of the better features of the app is it's got those push notifications for those advisories so if we ever do see ourselves in a high stream flow situation you can have that advisory pushed out to you as soon as we issue it," he says.

The app is free for both android and Apple phones.
