It's going to take a lot of of cleaning this Spring to pick up all the sand and gravel lining the streets of High River.

The Town's Manager of Operational Services, Eugene Lund says it is a big job this year.

"Just on account of the amount of snow that we had," said Lund. "And the amount of the plowing and sanding that we had to do, there was a lot more material left over on the roads than we have seen in other seasons."

Town crews will begin to work on residental streets after the May long weekend.

"This season we are going to be working 12 hours a day on the street sweeping. It is just going to take a little bit longer and we want to get as much area covered as we can."

Normally it takes six to eight weeks to clean all the streets and they are hoping to get it done in the same amount of time.
