The Town of Okotoks is hauling away as much snow as they can around the clock but are starting to stock pile it high and tempting enough to become an extreme toboggan hill.

A giant mountain of snow can be found on the east end of town along North Railway Street but it's not to be used for recreational purposes.

Communications Specialist Melanie Heemeryck says the Town will continue to stockpile the snow until they can no more.

"The Town of Okotoks is utilizing the land beside 32nd Street adjacent to Seaman Stadium for a temporary snow storage and the snow stays there until it melts in the spring," she says.

The site next to the Shell station off 32nd Street is an absolute no trespassing zone for residents says Heemeryck.

"Snow is dropped off on the site during their ongoing operations as needed throughout the winter season. It is closed off to citizens and we encourage citizens to use our outdoor rinks and toboggan hills that are maintained by Town Parks and the listing of them can be found on www.okotoks.ca"

If the Town runs out of real estate there is plan in place to pile more snow.

"There is a recommended limit to what the snow can go and manage in that area and when it is full then they have a secondary site planned out with engineers with the Town that the snow will be redistributed to that site."
