The hockey community and country are grieving after a fatal bus collision.

Emergency services, along with STARS, were dispatched to a bus and semi truck collision on Highway 35, about 30 kilometres north of Tisdale in Saskatchewan.

Members of the Humboldt Broncos were traveling to Nipawin on Friday (Apr.6) for a playoff game.

Police have confirmed 29 people were on the bus including the driver.

Fifteen have died and 14 are in hospital with a variety of injuries. Three of the injured are in critical condition.

"Road trips are meant to be about the team being together, bonding. This is where a team can become a family. Thoughts and prayers go out to Humboldt Broncos," the Fort Saskatchewan Junior B Hawks said via their Twitter.

Ten of the Broncos are from Alberta, including players from Edmonton and St. Albert.

"Our thoughts are with the Humboldt Broncos family and their families. We cannot imagine your pain right now," the Fort Sask Chiefs said via their Twitter.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up for the team.

The Broncos are part of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, a league for players 16 to 20 years of age.
