High praise for Foothills residents who dug deep to help the Calgary Dream Centre's Radiothon Thursday, October 6.

AM 1140 was there all day broadcasting and fundraising.

Dream Centre Executive Director Jim Moore says a lot of thanks has to go to Foothills residents who were able to donate.

"When the rubber really hits the road and out in High River and in the surrounding areas, we've had people drive in from your area. Farmers actually driving in and laying out cheques. And then laying out challenges. It just boggles your mind. Because it's more than money. It's actually saving lives."

In all over $130,000 was donated, with the "Toonies for Turkey's" donations still to be counted.
