The race for Turner Valley Council is coming down to one big issue heading into the October 16 vote.

Taxes and utilities.

That's the common thread from most candidates, including Greg Pyra who's running for a seat on council.

He says in his door knocking he's heard a lot about it mainly from seniors.

"With taxes and utilities here being the highest or near the highest in Alberta is a case of severe concern. What really concerns me as a candidate, I'd say there are a small minority of families that are seriously considering moving out of Turner Valley because of high taxes and utilities."

Pyra says he's heard a lot about affordable housing for seniors and about amalgamation with Black Diamond, which he's all for.
