The Highwood girls volleyball team were hard at work spiking pumpkins instead of volleyballs for a good cause on October 19th.

It was all part of the 4th annual Pumpkin Fundraiser the team puts on with a truckload of pumpkins donated by teacher and volleyball coach, Michelle Alberts, parents.

"This year after voting, the girls felt they wanted to support the tragedy that happened in Las Vegas," said Alberts. "So the girls voted to support their family directly, donate the money to the Roe family in Okotoks. I was so proud of them that they liked that idea."

The team raised just under $1,100.
