With a council meeting coming up on Monday, February 26th the Mayor and Councillors are hoping to get a few new people to attend.

The town has posted information on what to expect at a meeting on their website.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass says it is a place where you can get your voice heard as the public can ask questions, right at the start of the meeting and at the end of the meeting.

'You get people saying that council doesn't listen," said Snodgrass. "Well where were you in that conversation? That is what these council meetings are for. We have actually implemented this year two areas in where you can ask public questions."

The public is welcome to ask questions about the agenda right at the start of the meeting and at the end of the meeting.

"So at the start before we start going through the body of the agenda."

During the meeting however they don't allow feedback but at the end of the meeting the public can comment on what has taken place.

"I love it when people come to council meetings. Most of the time they don't show up unless it affects them directly. Then you fill the room."

There is more information here from the Town of High River on what to expect when you attend a council meeting.
