The Province wants to hear our thoughts on long term care facilities and home care services.

They're updating the legislation for the first time in 30 years and want our feelings on nursing homes, home support services and meeting the needs of caregivers, among others.

Alberta Health Minister Sarah Hoffman says with an aging population the demand for these services is going to grow.

"We want to make sure we understand their current experience and the experiences of those who are providing the day to day care for them, as well as those who love them. We really do want people to reach out and respond to the questions that are on the survey and be frank with their experiences and their advice."

Hoffman says she wants to hear from as many of us as possible, but those most affected in particular.

"Especially I care about making sure that we hear the voices of those currently living in care. And sometimes that means a family member will take the time to fill out the survey on their behalf. Also we want to make sure that the care workers are engaged in that process along with any client organizations that might be involved too."
