This weather is expected to last until Thursday night and into the early hours of Friday morning.

Drivers are asked to prepare for winter conditions and adjust their driving habits accordingly.

In preparation for what could be a tough commute home, Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School out in DeWinton has closed the school for the day Thursday.

No other schools are closed today, but two Foothills School Division buses, the #9 in High River and the #69 in Okotoks have been cancelled.
