The Museum of the Highwood will be setting the mood for Halloween with a viewing of the 1920 silent film Dr. Jekyll and Dr. Hyde Friday October 28 at 7pm.

On Saturday October 29 at 7pm the Haunted High River tour is back and museum Director Irene Kerr says it's a chance for people to learn more about the scarier side of town.

"The stories are ghost stories and some are actually true stories and the tour ends up at the cemetery."

She says she did a trial run for a group of skeptical seniors Wednesday afternoon and adds at the end of the tour they weren't so skeptical.

"The museum itself has a spooky history," adds Kerr.

"The museum is quite a haunted building, there's a lot of paranormal activity here and we had the Institute for the Paranormal come and spend a night here."

Kerr says she did a trial run Wednesday afternoon with some unbelievers.

"I was a bit worried about trying to do this tour in broad daylight but it actually worked out quite well. All of them were very skeptical but by the end of the tour they weren't so skeptical."

The tour is $20 and starts at the museum Saturday evening at 7pm and participants should bring a flashlight and dress for the weather.
