High River town council heard from Highwood Springs Estates Monday regarding the development of Heritage Residences on 7th Street S.E. adjacent to the Highwood Golf and Country Club.

Vice President Brent Siddons says it has everything anyone would need.

"We have so many good things going and one is we have probably the finest site in Southern Alberta for seniors housing with the golf course, walking paths and proximity to downtown. All of the ingredients you look for for a prime development site."

Siddons says construction will start in Spring 2017 and be ready for occupancy for Fall 2017.

"We already infrastructure in place, we have a foundation, we have all our services in place. All we're looking at now to get it going is to build the wooden infrastructure and finish off the housing, this carves three of four months of the construction."

He says after the current project is complete there's more coming.

"We have sufficient land there for another two-hundred housing units over and above this one. We're open to working with the town to determine what the highest use of that land would be."
