The occupant was pronounced dead at the scene.

The officers involved were not injured and support systems are in place to ensure their well-being. As this matter is under investigation by ASIRT, no further information is available.

RCMP said in a press release, "Every day throughout Alberta, RCMP officers are faced with dynamic and rapidly changing situations where they must make decisions and take actions to ensure public safety. Often, an officer’s actions are determined by the behaviour of the subject or the situation they are faced with."
