The Kids Cancer Care Foundation and Aspen Crossing are partnering again this year for a special event.

Aspen Crossing is the home Thursday evening for the Polar Express and co-owner Donna Biggar says children and their families dealing with cancer are in for a treat.

"They get to come to Aspen crossing and Aspen Crossing has donated the hot dogs, pop and popcorn and they're going to see a little of the first scene of the Polar Express because we follow some scenes of the movie and then they're going to load the train and first of all we're going to pick up Billy who lives on the wrong side of the tracks, " she says. "The we read the story to the children, give then hot chocolate and cookies and go to the North Pole to pick up Santa."

Last year about 200 people rode the train and this year more than 300 are expected.

Biggar says it's a treat for everyone involved.

"Because the story is all about believing, some of these families have gone through some pretty rough times, I know from experience, I have a friend who's grandson is having some trouble, two years ago actually right at Christmas, and I know it's really tough for them and they don't get much of a Christmas, when those stresses are happening at that time," Biggar says. "I just think the whole story about having something to believe in is fitting for what they're going through."
