High River's Food For Thought is hoping to continue to be able to provide school kids with a juice box in their lunches.

Suvi Tuulia Lorenz with the program says they make about a hundred lunches a day.

She says they try to make sure they're nutritious.

"We are using the multi-grain breads, and the healthier versions," she says. "Fruit, for example is one of the things the kids are very keen on in our lunches because it is an expense that a lot of parents, when they are struggling, they leave that one away, so they are really excited about the fruit."

They,  like a lot of charities, are having a tough time and the demand is increasing so they've started a juice box drive.

"We've always said that it is important that their stomachs are being filled so the first thing that we would drop out of our brown bags is the juice box, for the reason that there  are water fountains at the school, so if they are thirsty, it's not like they aren't having access to drinks," Lorenz says. "But I would hate to that juice box leaving because it's still like a nice little treat."
