Canadian farm and ranch retailers have combined to a total of 89 stores throughout the country and that makes for some good news here at home in terms of variety and savings.

Manager of the High River Peavey Mart Randy Dorn says the company has purchased another chain of country hardware stores.

"Peavey Mart of Western Canada purchased controlling shares in a company called Tractor Supply Company. There's about 51 stores in eastern Canada, this will make us a national chain now instead of just being in western Canada."

He says that aside from what Peavey Mart sells already there will be more variety like kayaks, fishing equipment, sporting goods, tenting and camping supplies.

"It's going to change some of the things that we carry, but the biggest thing is our chain is now twice the size and we have way more buying power and we get better deals. If we can buy things a little cheaper we can sell them a little less expensive too and pass the savings on to our customers."
