The 29th annual Santa Claus Parade was a huge draw Friday night in High River.

A number of awards were handed out to the many groups and organizations that took part.

There was a tie for the Best Over All entry between Lutes Building Centre and Farmboy Landscaping & Maintenance

They were also tied for the best Commercial Float in Town.

Tied for 2nd place were the Town of High River and Agriculture Financial Services while there was another tie for 3rd place between High River AutoPlex & RV and Mike’s Hi-Tech Transmission Shop.

2nd: Steelhorse Freight Ltd.
3rd: Nanton Boosters Club

Organizations: Church, School, Youth
Tied for 1st:
   Salvation Army, High River
   Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, High River
Tied for 2nd:
   Cayley School
   Dance Tech Dance Studio, High River
Tied for 3rd:
   High River Stetsons 4H Club
   High River Spring Ball
   Sheppard Family Park
   Brant Christian School

Horse Entries/Wagons:
1st: Foothills Search & Rescue
2nd: Brant Christian School
3rd: McBride Career Group

Antique Cars, Trucks, Tractors, etc:
1st: Eamon’s Garage (River City Classics)/Snaps/Agriculture Tractor Museum joint entry
2nd: Aspen Crossing Rail Road
3rd: Nanton Boosters Club

The judges this year really had their hands full considering the number of ties.

Next year’s Parade will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016. The theme for the Parade will be “Joy to the World!
