Farmer's markets are only a couple of months away.

Angela Groeneveld, who works on  business development for the Town of High River says she'd like to see local communities and Alberta Health Services come together and make it easier on food producers who sell at the markets all over the region.

"When we were at the Economic Developers Conference of Alberta, that was something we all heard was, insurance, liability issues for farmer's markets, if we want to truly support our local businesses, how can we make that easiest for them," she says. "Why does everybody have to get from these communities that are so close together, to be selling the same product, why can't they just have one (approval process), so it's going to take buy-in and it's going to take collaboration and sharing but they're all at the table wanting to talk about it."

She says venders have to get their food trucks inspected, get a business licence and they want to make it easier to support local farmers and ranchers.

Groeneveld's working on getting the municipal bodies together to make it possible to get one permit to cover a number of markets.
