One man is dead after a three vehicle collision north of Vulcan Sunday, May 28.

RCMP say around 3:00 p.m. a pickup truck travelling southbound crossed the centre line, striking a northbound semi-truck.

A third vehicle following behind the semi was unable to avoid the collision, rolling into the ditch.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 52-year-old man from Calgary, was transported to hospital but later died.

The driver of the semi truck and the third vehicle were treated for their injuries at local hospitals.

A section of Highway 23 was closed for several hours Sunday but has since re-opened.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

The name of deceased will not be released.
