Okotoks On Deck can continue to play ball.

Mayor Larry Spilak says the council for the Foothills MD has decided to allow the popular baseball and softball facility to continue operation despite years of non-compliance .

"The owner or management probably did not have all the correct information and did not have the permits to actually run the facility," Spilak says. "You know our council recognized just how important that facility is to many of the residents, or course especially the ball players, so we thought it was only right to grant the permit for the baseball diamonds."

He says the whole area is short of ball diamonds and those at On Deck are used from morning till night every weekend.

The facility is located east of Okotoks.
