Students at Percy Pegler school did their part to help support the Children's Wish Foundation last week.

A market was organized where they had a concession, baked goods, arts and crafts, used toys and books, and handmade comics. The Wish Market was part of the Wish Maker Walk that takes place this weekend.

Ashlea Stevenson, grade 5 teacher at Percy Pegler School and market organizer, says the students did an amazing job.

"Thursday and Wednesday we had our two days of the market and it was a huge success," she says. "We're really excited, we raised $1,685 this week and all of the money is going to be donated to the walk tomorrow."

Stevenson says a lot of hard work was put in by the young entrepreneurs.

"It was all student driven completely so their ideas were their own," she says. "They had to actually figure out how they were going to sell the items and make predictions on how much they needed to have. It was pretty neat."

This was the second year for the Wish Market, with Stevenson starting the Okotoks Wish Committee with a group of people four years ago. Stevenson says while the market takes a great deal of work dedication she expects it to be back next year as well.

The Wish Maker Walk is this Saturday at Seaman Stadium.
