Okotoks RCMP have been busy keeping impaired drivers off of roads.

From July 22-24 a number of traffic stops were performed, some resulting in license suspensions.

Police say a 25-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman were almost three times over the legal limit of .08 mg% and were charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. Both of their readings were 220 mg%.

Two men also had their licenses suspended for 72 hours under the Immediate Roadside Sanctions Act while one adult man had his licence suspended for 30 days under the Alberta zero tolerance program for novice drivers.

RCMP are reminding residents of the dangers of driving while under the influence of alcohol and drugs which can impact their vision, awareness, and reflexes. Driving under the influence also has the ability to change the lives of others on the road forever.

Anyone who witnesses abnormal driving behaviour is asked to call their local RCMP.
