2015 saw a little bit of everything for Okotoks Mayor Bill Robertson.

The Town is continuing it's efforts on bringing a potable water pipeline from Calgary to accommodate for future growth, the saga of going through a location for the new K-9 school that will now be located on the Wedderburn land on 32nd street instead of out of town and the twinning of Pason Centennial Arena were some of the highlights for 2015.

So what does 2016 have in store for the Town?

Robertson says the Town is working on a number of new projects and ventures to keep Okotoks prospering.

"We're doing our best to provide a great living experience, a place in Okotoks where you can live, work and play and we've made good progress over the last year and I think we're going to progress next regarding these things and we'll look for new opportunities," he says.

One thing Robertson has predicted in his crystal ball is the continued success and use of the Crescent Point Field House that is shared by the M.D. of Foothills and the Town.

He says the amount of activities conducted in the facility is incredible.

"Soccer and Lacrosse have been going on strong, in addition to that Pickleball really took off in 2015 and I expect it to get even larger next year and Martial Arts is offered out there."

The one topic that will be on many residents minds is the potential for the proposed water pipeline which has stalled the growth of the Town due to the water limitations for further developments.

Robertson says they'll work on the process one day at a time.

"Things will occur that we hadn't even considered that we'll have to deal with as it happens in previous years, but its still a great time to be an Okotokian."
