Residents of Okotoks are meeting once again to further educate those interested in supporting Syrian refugees with another information session Thursday night.

This is the third session on helping the refugees with each session bringing new topics to light.

Community Wellness Manager for the Town of Okotoks Debbie Posey says this meeting will show how to help refugees even if they don't live in town.

"The group will be talking about how to move forward with setting up a bank account to take some donations, to support the private sponsors in Okotoks that are working towards bringing some Syrian refugees into our community as well as other refugees so that we're a welcoming community," she says.

The meeting will be held at the United Church on Riverside Drive from 7-9 p.m.

Posey says the meetings are open to the public and they've been well attended so far.

"It's a fabulous group of just concerned residents that are coming together to create some support and it's been an ongoing process."

There have been no news of a Syrian refugee family coming to Okotoks yet.
