High River Town Council passed the final reading of their Cannabis Consumption Bylaw at their regular meeting Monday, October 22.

But the Town won't be seeing any Cannabis tax money according to the Provincial Government's Municipal Cannabis Transition Program.

On top of that, Mayor Craig Snodgrass says, the Province hasn't outlined how they plan to use that tax money.

"Was it spelled out directly? No. From day one? No. Because this has been a work in progress. But now they have spelled it out directly, and we don't like it."

Council voted to send a letter with their concerns to Premier Rachel Notley, Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson, and Foothills MP John Barlow to name a few.
