The High River Fire Department says there is "no specific cause" for the small fire on the roof of the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex.

The blaze broke out late in the afternoon of Monday, April 10, and was quickly put out with the help of the High River, Okotoks, Blackie and MD of Foothills Fire Departments.

High River Deputy Fire Chief Trevor Allan says "Electrical, mechanical, environmental and building systems have all been ruled out as a cause of the fire."

Allan thanked Town staff, and one off-duty RCMP Officer for their help in clearing the building.

The Rec-Plex re-opened the following day with only minor damage.

The pool remains closed for scheduled maintenance and repair.
