The Foothills School Division will have to deal with a couple of labour issues heading into the new school year.

However, Superintendent John Bailey says the nice thing about working in smaller division, is any negotiations always have an air of "civility."

"You know when you bump into someone in the local grocery store, or in the community, I think you recognize in the long run it's better to try and get along with people and try and work together. And keep the focus where it should be. And that's on what's best for kids and providing opportunity for those students. If we can keep the focus there, I think that really helps."

Bailey says they'll be kept busy early in September working on a new contract for the Divisions support workers.
