Road conditions were not good Sunday, to say the least.

High River RCMP Sergeant Brent Hawker says thankfully Sunday was pretty uneventful for them.

"No we didn't really see too many mishaps over the weekend, you'd get the odd vehicle that would slide off the road but certainly no injuries or no fatals," he says.

He says they encourage drivers to get those winter tires on and make sure to slow down and leave plenty of space between their vehicle and the one in front of them.

And Sgt. Hawker adds make sure you have emergency supplies like a candle, blanket and something to eat in case they can't get to you right away if you do become stranded although that doesn't happen as much now with the proliferation of cell phones.
