There's no shortage of schools under development or under consideration in the Foothills School Division.

The Director of Planning with the division Monica Kohlhammer says they, and the Christ the Redeemer School Division have good relationships with local towns and developers.

"There's definitely been identified municipal reserves that can support a supply of schools for the public and the separate (divisions) into the future and that is very exciting," she says.

Kohlhammer says it comes from a coordinated effort.

"Regional planning is something we've been doing since the spring of 2016 and I think that is also a positive contributor to the position that we find ourselves today."

Schools are being looked at down the road in the D'arcy development and other areas of Okotoks as well as in a proposed subdivision in Aldersyde and Spitzee Crossing in High River.
