A Millarville brother and sister are close to opening the Foothills first and only micro-brewery.

Pam and Cory Lyken hoped to have the Hard Knox Brewery open for Canada Day, but it looks more like the Fall before they can open the doors.

Pam Lyken says their Brewmaster, Issac Privett is all about keeping the ingredients local.

"He always captures wild yeast to brew his beer and then wants to source local ingredients and add that to the beer. So, our first run here for an example, we picked 19-pounds of "spruce tip" this spring while they were fresh."

Lyken says once they're open they'll be offering tours of the facility, which they say will make a nice addition to the one's already being offered at the Eau Claire Distillery in Turner Valley.
