The Foothills Advocacy in Motion Society is ready to lay down the welcome mat at their new location in Okotoks.

Currently the groups location on Elma Street is a tight fit but on Monday they'll be able to call their new 4,500 square foot building on Stockton Avenue home.

The new location promises plenty of room for the society who's seen a steady growth of about 10 people per year.

Brad Fowler, day services manager for Foothills AIM Society in Okotoks, says they'll continue providing excellent support for adults with developmental disabilities at their new facility.

"We provide support in home living situations so not only are we a day services program and employment program we do find people places to live in the Okotoks community. We also have an outreach department that supports people that are independent and wanting to maintain their independence living on their own so we have outreach workers that will go in and meet with people in their homes."

The group began in Okotoks in 2005 and worked with about 13 clients and had a staff of about 11 people at the time which has since grown to 27.

AIM Society's new building on Stockton Avenue is right across from Bibles For Missions Okotoks new store that's set to open this fall which Fowler says is exciting as the group does a great deal of volunteer work for the organization.

Fowler adds while they enjoy their home down town, they're ready to expand.

"It's going to have a really nice atmosphere and create more space for people. We're supporting about 46 people in the Okotoks area so it gives us a chance to meet with people in a nice, sunny environment. We loved being on Elma Street, it's a beautiful street in Okotoks, but we've absolutely outgrown the current location."

An official grand opening barbeque is scheduled for Sept. 16.
