The Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling WFG Masters has brought more than just the top curlers in the world to town.

With people from all over the country and even the world coming to watch the spectacle, the event has brought business as well.

Town of Okotoks Chamber of Commerce President Andrew Gustafson says hosting the WFG Masters benefits the whole town.

"Adding curling to the mix now is just another great step in that right direction to bring in more sports tourism and obviously therefore then the hotels do well, the restaurants do well, the gas stations do well, all the souvenir shops, all the local stores we have can do really well and I'm sure someone will forget their toothbrush so the drugs stores will do well too. So everyone will benefit from this."

Mark Frank, owner of The George says their pub has seen quite a few new and familiar faces since the curling event started on October 25th.

"Well I can't speak for the whole town but...we are getting a lot of customers from all over the place, a lot of Canadians driving down and visiting into Okotoks and a lot of people even outside of our country...and I know they are enjoying the event very much, there's been a lot of great comments about the town of Okotoks."

Businesses have been preparing for this big moment on centre stage for a while now and Gustafson hopes out of towners will enjoy their Okotoks experience.

"We've known for two years that this was coming and I know that every business in town has been excited to have this. So we really hope that the businesses are really opening their doors up and really welcoming people in to show the world really, because this is televised all over the place, really showing people how friendly we are and how many great things we have and hopefully people learn a little about Okotoks and will want to come back again."

The Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling WFG Masters wraps up it's time here in the Foothills Sunday, October 30th.
