Almost all Disaster Recovery Program files in High River have been closed according to Municipal Affairs Minister Danielle Larivee.

During a news conference Wednesday where she gave her response to the Auditor General's report, Larivee said she's been working closely with the local DRP Advocacy group.

"We're at 99.01 per cent closed for High River specifically," Larivee says. "I had met with the High River advocacy group in November and they'd expressed that concern and I made that commitment to them and with the release of the report I met personally to talk about the recommendations and they were incredibly happy with the progress that we've made."

She says she assured them that the vast majority of the files would be closed by the three-year anniversary in June of this year. She expects all files will be closed by the end of the year.

Larivee says the province hasn't sent the final bill to the federal government for reimbursement yet because all the bills have to be paid out before they can do that.
