Nanton RCMP are thanking an eagle eyed local rancher, who helped them nab a couple of alleged copper wire thieves.

Nanton Mounties, along with High River Traffic Services arrested two men from Calgary, Tuesday, January 15, after seizing a large amount of copper wire they say was stolen from industrial sites.

39 year old Bradley Holtby and 27 year old Evan Abbs, both of Calgary are facing a long list of charges, related to the theft.

Both have been remanded into custody.

Nanton RCMP are praising the rancher who they say reported something he thought was suspicious, which led to the arrests.

Corporal Travis Ogilvie, Detachment Commander of Nanton RCMP says, "Without that call, we may not have apprehended these suspects in our rural area."

The pair are each facing numerous charges:

Bradley Holtby, 39, of Calgary, is facing the following charges:

•Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
•Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
•Break and Enter with Intent
•Possession of Break-In Instruments
•Disguise with Intent
•Possession of a Controlled Substance
•Breach of Recognizance x 15

Evan Abbs, 27, also of Calgary is facing the following charges:

•Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
•Break and Enter with Intent
•Possession of Break-In Instruments
•Possession of a Controlled Substance
•Breach of Recognizance x 1
