The plan to have once a day bus service from Nanton to Calgary is drawing mixed reaction from Nanton residents.

As the plan stands now, only one bus a day would go through town and because they're the first and last stop on the route riders would be early on and late off.

Nanton Mayor Rick Everett says that may need some tweaking.

"The question then becomes one of is the 5:30 in the morning the appropriate one, because the scheduling is going to be a bit of an issues to schedule to meet the needs of High River, Okotoks and Calgary as well."

Everett says with stops in High River and Okotoks it would take about 90 minutes to get to Calgary, or about twice as long as driving.

He says they've got a lively debate going on their Facebook page now, and will revisit the issue at their next Town Council meeting on Monday, November 16.
