Closed roads in downtown High River is a familiar sight to residents, but don't worry the work is almost done.

A three-week closure of 5th Ave. S.W. between 1st St. and Macleod trail, south of the Highwood Memorial Centre, starts April 24 for concrete work, depending on the weather.

Pedestrians will still have access to local businesses.

At times the intersection at 5th Ave. and Macleod Trail will be closed but people can still access George Lane park in the driveway north of the park entrance.

All roadwork should be done in the downtown core by the end of June, after two years worth of work was completed last summer.
