More charges have been laid against embattled former pet store owner, Tyler Marshall.

SPCA Alberta Communications Manager Roland Lines says, the latest charges relate back to when he owned the Animal House in Okotoks.

"Yesterday (Tuesday, July 4), Mr. Marshall was served by one of our Peace Officers with additional charges that are relating to a separate investigation that was ongoing about animals that had been purchased from his previous pet store."

Lines says, the charges revolve around one cat that was bought at the store.

He's facing animal distress charges and getting chargers for failing to provide adequate care for the cat when it was ill.

He'll make his first court appearance on these charges, Monday, September 11, 2017, in Okotoks Provincial Court.
