There's been a few delays for modulars in the Foothills School Division.

The modulars for C. Ian McLaren in Black Diamond, Heritage Heights in Dewinton, and Spitzee School in High River have been delayed due to finding contractors who deal with screw piles which attach them to the ground to properly install them for provincial requirements.

Drew Chipman, assistant superintendent, says the board originally hoped to see them in by the time school started.

"Going through all the processes that are required from both the provincial and community issues, it's kind of held us back a little bit so we're trying to get them in as soon as we can," he says. "They're pretty much on the same timeline, one might be done a wekk or two before the others but that's what we're looking at is a November time frame to get them done."

Chipman says it's a different story for the ones at Percy Peglar School.

"There's just some issues we need to resolve regarding development and building permits so there's some of those that we're working through, the biggest one seems to be parking, but we think we can get that resolved and move forward."

Chipman adds the schools the modulars are going to have a high utilization rate so the modulars will help to alleviate some of those issues they're seeing from enrollment growth in those communities.
