It has been a whirlwind few days for the new leaders at the Salvation Army Foothills Church and Communities Ministries in High River.

Lieutenant Chad Cole and his wife Lisa have hit the ground running as they arrived on Wednesday and were already going to public events on Thursday.

"So far we just feel the love and the support of the community and it is outstanding," said Cole. "We are just getting unpacked and settled in as best we can."

This Sunday is the official installation ceremony at the Foothills Church with the Area Commander coming from Calgary.

"So my wife and I we come together to take up where the Fifields left off and we will tackle everything together as a team."

Cole was at the Food Mountain Food Drive on Thursday, just a few hours after they arrived in town.

"We are really excited to be here. Just to see what is going on in High River; the town seems incredible and we can't wait to explore it."
