Edouard Maurice is back in an Okotoks courtroom again Friday, May 18.

He'll be looking to enter a plea on charges of aggravated assault, pointing a firearm and careless use of a firearm, all stemming from a confrontation with a couple of alleged thieves on his property back in February.

His lawyer, Tonii Roulston, says Maurice will plead not guilty and elect trial by judge and jury.

This is the fifth time Maurice will try to enter a plea.

The previous times, Roulston has asked to reserve the plea as she's been waiting for discovery and other evidence, particularly a ballistics report, from the Crown before she can move ahead and enter a plea.
