Talk to High River Town Councillor Bruce Masterman and he'll tell you that unlike the 2013 election, in 2017 there's no one galvanizing issue for voters heading into this election.

However he says flood related issues are still resonating through town.

"The main issues I'm hearing about are finishing the flood mitigation, the southwest berm has to get built. We've got to complete that network."

He says replacing the Centre Street Bridge is another high priority, as is moving the town forward, both economically and socially.

"We have to make sure the people of this town, the businesses of this town want to be here, they like being here, they're proud of this town. We're bringing in more people. We're celebrating the assets we have, including our people, our natural areas, the river. You know things that are really special to us."

Election day is Monday, October 16.
