There's an end in sight for the construction on the west end of Macleod Trail in High River.

They were hoping to have all the paving done before school started, but the Town's Engineering Coordinator, Jim Duckworth, says they've had a couple of delays but are now back on track.

"They're into road works now, hope to get concrete, curb and gutter done by the end of this week. Hopefully we're looking for pavement in that section by the end of next week and then the following week there's some peripheral issues to be taken care of like some sidewalk replacement, shallow utilities installations and then street light and landscaping and that pretty much wraps it up."

Duckworth says they hope to have all the work done by the end of September.

He says they'll go back in two years to do the final lift of the pavement.
