High River council has a fair amount of business to deal with on Monday's agenda.

Council's being asked for a couple of letters of support for the Hearts and Minds organization and from the Foothills MD.

Hearts and Minds is a group that has helped to bring people together since the 2013 and provided assistance with things like mental health and addiction counselling as well as other programs through the Foothills and Christ the Redeemer school divisions.

They're looking for support from the town when they approach the provincial government for funding to continue their work.

The Foothills MD is looking for the Mayor to sign a joint letter of opposition to Municipal Affairs Minister Danielle Larivee on the issue of Growth Management Boards and Inter-Municipal Agreements.

The MD is concerned local bodies could lose their autonomy in planning for future developments.

Council's also being asked to give first reading to a change to the Spitzee Crossing Area Structure Plan which would set up a public hearing later this month.

The meeting starts at 3 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
