Longview School, grade four student Harlam Rollinmud is a nominee for the Alberta School Board Associations, Honouring Spirit Indigineous Student Award.

Rollinmud was nominated for the provincial award by his teacher Danielle Buschman.

Buschman says there was no one else she could have imagined nominating for this award, as Harlam's efforts in her class go above and beyond.

"Harlam is a great student. He works really hard in class and is always willing to help his classmates. He always has a huge smile on his face and the first question he asks when he's done his work is how he can help around the class room."  Buschman says, "He's super humble and is great to have in our class, he's a great addition to it."

Rollinmud says he enjoys going to school and thinks it's pretty neat to be honoured with this type of nomination.

"Yea it's really awesome."

After recently helping his father cater weddings in Eden Valley, Rollinmud says he's not sure quite yet but he might look to that as a career.

"I don't know yet, but I want to be like a Chef or something like that"

He says his favorite classes in school so far are math and science.

Rollinmud's parents, brothers and sister were in attendance for the ceremony which took place in High River, on Wednesday, May 15.

His Father says he's beyond proud of his young man.

"I feel humbled by it, you notice these day to day things and usually they don't go acknowledged but today he was acknowledged for how he is, this is just him in general. How he is as a person."

Rollinmud's mother says the trick to her children's success is spending as much time as possible with your family, and that being close is very important.
