High River residents looking to help those in B.C. evacuated by the wildfires, now have a local option for donations.

Travis Sandor with the Foothills Fetal Alcohol Society says they're taking donations at their High River office.

"We have experience with disasters in High River and area. We know what the people in B.C. are going through and we need to be there for them and just kind of help them with anything they need."

He says they're looking for household items, clothing, bedding, towels, toiletries and the like.

He says non-perishable food items or gift cards are welcome as well.

Sandor says you can drop them off at the 101 Centre on Macleod Trail.

Or if you contact him through Facebook, or call him at (403) 998-8497 he'll come pick up any donations.

He says they'll take donations until July 31, or longer depending on the need.
