Students in schools across the Foothills have put together special Remembrance Day Services.

Joe Clark had their event November 9th in the afternoon.

Principal Maris Quarin-Wright says the students worked very hard putting the ceremony together.

"Every class is responsible to make their own wreath," said Quarin-Wright.

The choir had been practicing since the begriming of the school year to sing O' Canada and one other song.

And the Grade one Class were hard at work memorizing and reciting In Flanders Field.

They also had a special guest in Korean War Veteran Warren Vincent who says it is rewarding to see the students ceremony.

"It is really something to see such a nice bunch of children take part in the memorial service in regards to November 11th," Vincent said.

He added it is nice to see so many family members come out the the service at the school and says the crowds at the November 11th service is nice to see.

"We have worked awfully hard through the Legion to do this. This is why we come out to the schools to present the facts of November 11th. Make sure you remember it certainly means a lot to a veteran like myself."
